About Ana

​Ana​ Gvozdenović is a young soprano from Belgrade, Serbia.

In october 2024 she began her Masterclass studies at Hochschule für Musik und Theater Felix Mendellsohn Bartoldy in Leipzig, in the class of soprano Brigitte Wolfarth. She recieved the prestiguos DAAD Scholarship (German Exchange Academic Service). After graduating at The Voice Departament at The Faculty of Music Arts in Belgrade with Bachelor and Master"s Degree, in the class of professor Violeta Pančetović Radaković, she continued her further artistic and academic development through Doctoral Studies.

 

In the season 2023/2024 Ana was chosen for a soloist in The Opera Studio of The National Theatre in Belgrade. She made her debut in the role of Rosalinde in Johan Strauss's operetta Die Fledermaus and Stanka in Stanislav Binicki's first Serbian opera At Dawn.

 

During her undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Music Arts in Belgrade, Ana was involved in several opera productions, and she performed the main role of the Puccini's opera Suor Angelica and in the role of Mother Gertrude in Engelbert Humperdink's opera Hänsel und Gretel (BEMUS festival).​

 

Ana was a Semi - finalist of the CASCAIS Opera Vocal Competition (2026) and in August 2026 she will perform in prestigeous Wagner Stimmen Competition on the occasion of 150th anniversary of Bayreuther Festspiele. She won first prize on International competition Lav Mirski (Osijek, Croatia) and also special awards on competitions for The Most perspective soprano by primadona Radmila Bakočević at the International Competition Nikola Cvejić, Performer of the evening for her performance in Puccini's opera Suor Angelica on festival KESTENBURG, and special Prize by Cultural element organization.

 

The Voice Departament of The Faculty of Music Arts in Belgrade has awarded her with The Prize from the fond of Primadona Biserka Cvejić - for all successes on performances, competitions and operas in 2022/ 2023 season.

 

She has further refined her artistry through masterclasses and coaching with renowned singers, conductors, vocal coaches, and stage directors, including Elena Pankratova, Gabriela Georgieva, Michael Paul, Ansi Verwey, Srboljub Dinić, David Bižić, Nikola Mijailović, Mihailo Arsenski, Đorđe Nešić, Marijana Mijanović, Leonid Bomstein, Nataša Jović Trivić, Pelagia Cherneva, Ljudmila Gros Popović, Aneta Ilić, Boris Martinović (Croatia), baritone Aleksej Vladilenovich Mochalov, Vitto Maggiolino, Jagoš Marković, and Dušan Matejić.

In year 2021 she was chosen to participate in project of MOTO Organisation- Opera : Past, Present, Perfect! (Creative Europe), where she had a chance to participate in several projects, concerts and opera productions. She has performed in the role of Rowan in B. Britten's opera Little sweep and in the role of Nobody's Rose in premiere performance of contemporary opera Mercy street by Serbian composer Damjan Jovičin.

Ana is a dedicated concert artist with a particular passion for Serbian contemporary music. She regularly performs solo recitals at the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts with pianist Vladimir Gligorić, as well as concerts dedicated to the music of Richard Wagner in Leipzig with pianist and conductor Prof. Ansi Verwey.

Her recital repertoire includes works by Richard Wagner, Gustav Mahler, Edvard Grieg, Jean Sibelius, Dmitri Shostakovich, Sergei Prokofiev, Dejan Despić, Ivan Jevtić, and other composers.

 

In October 2024, she presented a recital dedicated to the music of Serbian composer Ivan Jevtić. In 2022, she gave the premiere performance of songs from the cycle Songs for Anita by the Slovenian-Serbian composer Mihovil Logar.

She has also appeared in the concert Reflections – The Creativity of Young Serbian Contemporary Composers and in Verses Revealed Through Music, a concert dedicated to the poetry of Desanka Maksimović.

Ana collaborates regularly with the MERAKI String Quartet, performing in a concert project dedicated to the music of Serbian composer Josip Slavenski.

 

She has appeared on all important stages in Belgrade, such as The Kolarac Endowment, National Theatre in Belgrade, gallery SANU...

Ana has started her musical education at the age of 5 at the Piano Departament in Music school Kosta Manojlović and she has continued her education at the Voice Departament in Music School Dr Vojislav Vučković, in the class of professor Maja  Đokić.

Ana is as well a senior year student at The Faculty of Dental Medicine at The University in Belgrade.
